Choosing Surrender over Comfort

I’m thinking I’ll resume my blog again after the Daniel Fast. This fast is a consecration for me - a time to put what my flesh usually craves to the side for the glory of God. I’m doing this as a small act on my part for a much bigger reason.
That reason is to incline my heart toward Him and place myself humbly before Jesus. He sacrificed His life for me, so I can surely sacrifice my cravings for a greater purpose.
The very first night I started, I experienced severe headaches and intense dreams about food - what I could and couldn’t consume. I figured the headaches were likely from cutting out sugar entirely, or maybe coffee… or perhaps both. Either way, I expected some discomfort.
Long story short, I’m doing this to grow closer to God and to become more sensitive to the Spirit. You know how they say the flesh is weak, but the spirit is willing - well, I’m willing to put my comforts aside for this season.
I’ll see you all at the end of the 21 day Daniel Fast.
