God Provides More Than We Expect
Share
I came upon a parking spot. The person was still in the car and all the lights were on. I thought they were just heading out, so naturally, I backed up to give them some space. Shortly afterward, they turned off the lights and immediately got out of the car. I was bummed.
I had come for Bible study, and parking in that area is notorious... spots are often already reserved. I usually have to come at least an hour early to make sure I have a chance to find a space.
Well, lo and behold, my disappointment didn’t last long. A couple of cars to the right - I spotted a vacant spot. I couldn’t believe my eyes. So, I made haste and pulled in.
See, that’s how God is.
We may be expecting or wanting something that seems just right, but the God we serve is almighty and blesses us more than we could ever imagine. He won’t always give us exactly what we think we want, but He always provides what we need.
It’s just like when the Israelites wandered in the desert for forty years. They had no means of their own, but what they did have was the manna that God provided for them daily. Though they complained more often than not, God was still faithful.
Did you know that Jesus is the Bread of Life? He has all that we need - patiently waiting for us to open our hearts in obedience and full trust in Him.
“Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.’”
John 6:35
Where you may be coming from is not necessarily where God will bless you. What you may be expecting is not always what He will do for you. But when He moves on our behalf, it’s far beyond what we could ever imagine.
I truly wasn’t expecting that parking spot. I thought I would spend at least 30–40 minutes searching for one.
But God blessed me - right when I wasn’t even looking.
