Looking for the Living Among the Dead
Share
If Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, and if He raised a young girl back to life, then why didn’t anyone expect that He could rise from the dead Himself?
When they went to anoint His body with spices and oils, they found the stone rolled away. Instead of expecting a miracle, they were shocked - assuming someone had stolen His body.
But then came the question that changed everything:
“Why are you looking for the living among the dead?”
He was not there. He had risen.
And that’s exactly what He did.
Just as He said before, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.”
Yet the people were blind to what He meant. They thought He was speaking about a physical building, not His body. And even then, they mocked Him.
But guys what we have to realize is this:
We serve the Most High God - the Creator of the universe, the Alpha and the Omega. The One who sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins.
For a moment, it may have seemed like all hope was lost. As Jesus hung on the cross, it felt like darkness had won. But death was never the end of the story.
God, in His perfect knowledge and detail, had already gone before us. And Jesus endured that gruesome death in our place - a death we could have never endured.
We were dead in our sins. But through Jesus - through accepting Him as our Lord and Savior - we are made alive again. Hallelujah!
Jesus said:
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
He is the perfect Lamb - unblemished and without sin - yet He took it all on for us.
What a wonderful and mighty God we serve.
So while we still have time, the question remains:
Who will you serve?
Will you choose the one true God, or remain bound in your sin?
There is freedom available to you - right now. You don’t have to carry that weight any longer. Turn away from it, repent, and come to Jesus.
He is waiting for you with open arms.
