Delay is not denial

Delay is not denial

Do you wait on the Lord wholeheartedly?
Or do you move ahead out of impatience?

We live in a world shaped by the microwave effect. Everything is instant. Answers come quickly. Doors seem to open overnight. Messages are delivered in seconds.

So when we pray for something in private and don’t see movement immediately - it becomes hard to wait.

We’ve already gone to the Father.
We’ve laid our petitions at His feet.
We’ve asked that His will be done.

But the real question is this:

Will you wait impatiently… or faithfully?

Scripture tells us to pray without ceasing. To remain in thanksgiving. To trust that He is working all things together for our good - even when we cannot see it.

In the book of Daniel, we see something powerful.

Daniel humbled himself before God and prayed. And according to Daniel 10:12-13, his prayer was heard the very first day. But the answer did not arrive immediately. There was resistance. A spiritual opposition delayed the angel for twenty-one days.

Three weeks.

Heaven had already responded, but Daniel could not yet see it.

How often do we assume silence means “no”?

When we don’t hear back that night - or even the next day - we begin to think:
“Maybe God forgot about me.”
“Maybe it’s not going to happen.”

It’s like sending a message and seeing that it was delivered - even read - but there’s no reply yet. Hours pass. Still nothing.

It can feel disheartening.

But what if the answer is already in motion?

What if there are things shifting in the spiritual realm that you cannot see?

If Daniel had known the angel was already on the way - delayed but not denied - he would have continued praying, continued seeking, continued praising.

And that is what we are called to do.

We have become so accustomed to immediate responses that we’ve placed God into the same box as our expectations.

But God is not confined to our timing.

He is the Creator of the universe. His plans are higher. His thoughts are greater. He is arranging details you cannot see, working in ways you cannot fathom, aligning outcomes you have not yet imagined.

So instead of rushing Him…
Instead of stepping ahead of Him…
Wait.

Humble yourself.
Remain steadfast in prayer.
Stay in repentance.
Continue in worship.

He has the best possible outcome for you - if you trust His timing.

Wait well.
