What Is Good Stewardship

What Is Good Stewardship

I recently went and washed my car. In my mind ~ I like to keep it clean. There’s hardly anything in there really, but still - there are crumbs, crumbled receipts, dog stuff, random things in the cup holders… you name it. The works that slowly build up over time like dust (cough-cough).

So I went on to wash the car even though I saw there may be a possibility of rain over the weekend, I still wanted to make face. See, I’m just a girl who hops in the car, drives, and then parks it. I really just wanted to vacuum it, but I decided to fully commit.

So here I am, washing it and then shortly I discovered the hose was mostly spraying soap all over me instead! Yet, I made do with what I had access to. I also went and vacuumed as well, and then I found myself doing some light-to-mid detailing. I went all in, and afterwards, I felt proud of the work I’d done.

Later, while walking my dog, I started thinking about the car and how happy I was that I’d finally cleaned it. And then I thought, If someone were to ever get in my car, it would be an immediate first impression. What if my employer ever got in that car? I’d be so embarrassed. He’d probably look around and be like, You rolling like this? Ughh, I know I’d just faint from embarrassment.

But with that being said - how are you keeping house?

When the Lord blesses you with something, don’t run it into the ground. Take good stewardship. Whether you want to believe it or not, everything we have is a gift from God.

We should be faithful and trustworthy with what we currently have, and disciplined in how we utilize our time and resources.

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.”
Luke 16:10

Father Lord, please help me to honor You with what’s in my hands today. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
