What I've been thinking about...

Focusing on what you can control is nothing short of a miracle. Oftentimes we stress about the things we cannot control. For me lately, it’s been the weather, tragic news, possible earthquakes, the world ending, someone messing with my car, or just being on constant watch so I don’t become another story on the news. With all the things that could possibly go wrong, it’s easy to get lost in the downhill sauce.
So I try to recenter and focus more on God. It’s hard, I’m not gonna lie. To be in a constant state of prayer mixed with worries feels heavy. But it’s best to just surrender and give it all to the Lord.
Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
This tells me that while worry can feel natural, it goes deeper, it’s a product of fear. And fear isn’t of the Lord. So when I try to recenter, I surrender to His will, no matter what that may be or look like.
So today may we all practice releasing what we can’t control and lean more into His peace, amen.
